Legendary Detective Fil Waters

Retired FBI Agent Scott Duffey

Barry Morphew has been re-arrested and indicted on first‑degree murder charges in the death of his wife Suzanne Morphew, who vanished on Mother’s Day 2020 in Colorado. Prosecutors allege Barry used a powerful animal tranquilizer known as BAM (Butorphanol, Azaperone, Medetomidine)—the only legally prescribed user in the area—to drug Suzanne, whose remains were discovered in a shallow grave in September 2023 with BAM traces in her bones. Investigative breakthroughs include detailed cell‑phone data, truck telematics, surveillance footage showing Barry discarding items in trash cans, and tranquilizer equipment found in the marital home. The couple’s troubled marriage—including Suzanne’s secret affair and discussions of divorce—adds context to the charges. As this high‑stakes true‑crime saga unfolds, with Barry held on a $3 million bond and awaiting extradition from Arizona, the case draws national attention to Colorado cold case murders and animal tranquilizer homicide.
